Brenda Koekkoek

Brenda Koekkoek works with the Strategic Approach to International Chemicals Management (SAICM) secretariat at UN Environment. Since its inception in 2006, SAICM has provided a pro-active, inclusive and overarching platform for engagement and commitment of governments, industry, NGOs and international organizations for the sound management of chemicals while incorporating environmental, economic, social, health and labour concerns. Brenda has over fifteen years of environmental policy-related experience, particularly in relation to pollution.  Brenda has a Bachelor Degree in Environmental Engineering from the University of Guelph and a Masters of Arts in Environment and Management from Royal Roads University.  Brenda is a Canadian national, previously working with the Clean Air Directorate at Environment and Climate Change Canada. Much of her career has focused on building strategic partnerships as well as overseeing stakeholder consultation processes.
