Svenja Schulze

Svenja Schulze is Federal Minister for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety. Born in 1968 in Düsseldorf, she made university studies in German and Political Sciences in Bochum, North Rhine-Westphalia. Since 1988 she has been member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) since 1988. From 2010 to 2017, she has been Minister for Innovation, Science and Research and Member of the Parliament of the Federal State of North Rhine-Westphalia. In 2017-2018 she has been General Secretary of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD) in North Rhine-Westphalia.
